Day 365: The End of my Happy Year

It doesn’t mean I’m done being happy. It doesn’t mean that I’m done blogging (though I am looking to start a new one soon…stay posted!)

It does mean that I’m 22 now, and married, and that I had an awesome day in Chicago with my husband! (Willis Tower, Cubs game at Wrigley Field, Cloud Gate at Millennium Park, Apple Cobbler back at the hotel…! Awesome day!)

And yes, there will be many more happy days to come, and happy years. Thanks for all the birthday wishes! Thanks for reading, and make sure to subscribe to my next blog…coming soon!

Day 364: High Times in Chicago

Our hotel room has TWO bathrooms! (One has this huge walk-in shower!) Plus, for dinner we went to the Weber Grill restaurant, which was delicious (I had ribs for the first time ever.) (And they gave us free dessert since it was our honeymoon–which was delicious!!)

Day 363: MALL OF AMERICA!

It’s so huge! I think I could be lost in there for an entire week and not even care! (Just kidding) Seriously though, the Lego exhibit is so cool, and I think there’s an aquarium in there somewhere that we haven’t even seen! Today we’re going to ride some of the rides. Who cares if they’re for little kids!?

Day 362: Honeymoon Bonuses

We got upgraded to the suite for the regular price, and then a man gave us two free sparkling orange sodas for the road on our way out of the hotel this morning. And people keep honking and waving at us when we’re driving. I know it’s silly, but it makes us both smile. And as for the roadtrip, it’s going super well, except for the fact that Wyatt and I both are a bit sick, coughing a little. It’s not too bad, and we’re still having fun, but I’m still making him take vitamin C and some cold medicine, much to his dismay.

Day 361: Being a Newlywed

It doesn’t always seem real, but I have to say that being with Wyatt all the time is for sure as awesome as I thought it was going to be. Plus, the days seem to take forever because we’re not used to having so much time together.

Day 359: Getting butterflies

I had no idea that walking down the aisle at rehearsal tonight would hit me as hard as it did. On the one hand, it was frightening because the way I was shaking as I held Wyatt’s hand at the front of the church made me think I was for sure to cry tomorrow, and I really don’t want to cry a lot. However, on the other hand, it was amazing to know I was walking down the aisle with my dad, the one with who has helped bring me to this time in life, towards the one with whom I’ll make my future.

It’s been a long time coming, yes, and yes, it’s going to be amazing.

Day 358: Wildflowers

They’re just growing there for us to enjoy. Free, in every sense of the word. If a bundle of black-eyed susans, wild daisies, and queen anne’s lace doens’t say summer happiness, what does?

Day 357: Shonna

She printed our programs, place mats, guest book cards, and invites, and she’s going to print our thank you notes. It has been rushed (because I was a bit behind on some of this stuff), sometimes unorganized (on my part), and totally and completely appreciated. She has trouble-shooted, proofread, and more, and all with the mix of cheeriness, sarcasm, and sense of reality that I’ve come to enjoy so much over the years. She’s the best, basically.
